Beethoven: Sonata for Piano 4 Hands

While many of Beethoven's works have been arranged for Piano 4 Hands, Beethoven himself wrote few works for this popular pairing. This simple work was likely written as a teaching piece for Beethoven's use. Interestingly, this work foreshadows Beethoven's later works in its opening with three short notes followed by a descending fourth note. While written in a major key, the motive clearly foreshadows the famous opening of Beethoven's 5th Symphony.
